Popular Resorts
The north of the island offers wonderful views across the
Mediterranean
to the maltese islands of Gozo and Comino and Malta's most established
resorts, Bugibba, Qawra and the largest sandy beach at Mellieha Bay
are located here. Malta's other sandy beaches, Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha
and Paradise Bay are also located at this end of the island. In the
north west of the island the village of Mellieha is situated about
one and a half miles inland from Malta's longest sandy beach.
Accommodation on Malta
This ranges from five star hotels and apartments to charming villas
and farmhouses with private pools or basic bed and breakfast provision.
The Maltese people are extremely friendly and helpful. Because of
the beautiful nature of the island it is well worthwhile considering
a fly drive deal and hiring a car at Malta airport so that you can
fully explore this charming island. |
Comino and Gozo
Comino is situated off the northwest coast of Malta and with an abundance
of small bays and caves, the island was named after the cumin herb
that was once grown here. The main attraction on Comino is the Blue
Grotto, a magnificent lagoon with turquoise blue water. The Lagoon
is excellent for snorkelling and other watersports. Gozo offers some
of the best diving sites in the Mediterranean. |
